Demonstrating the Infinite Value of the Living God

Center for Church Planting

The Center for Church Planting is a ministry of Good Shepherd Community Church, 4701 Virginia Ave., Dallas, Texas, USA.

Purpose: to provide training, mentoring, materials, and support for the planting of new local churches in the Dallas Metroplex and beyond.

Doctrinal Basis: the Statement of Faith of Good Shepherd Community Faith. We also affirm the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed of 381 AD, the Creed of Calcedon of 451 AD, and the London Confessions of 1642 and 1689.

Leadership: the pastors of Good Shepherd Community Church: Jeff Gregory and Mark Bahr.

Current Project: On October 20, 2009, an ESL (English as a Second Language) course will begin in two newly renovated rooms in a small strip center at 8245 Scyene Road in the Pleasant Grove area of southeast Dallas. Reading from the English Bible will be a part of the Tuesday night class. By providing this social service to the people of this neighborhood and the opportunity to learn about the Lord Jesus Christ from the gospel of Mark, our hope is that the Spirit of God will call people into ChristÕs kingdom and the nucleus of a new local church will begin to emerge. As men come to faith in Christ, they will receive Biblical and theological training. We will look to God to call men from among those being trained into the pastoral leadership needed to oversee this future local church.

Future Plans: the establishment of a Bible institute called The Grace Center for Biblical and Theological Studies with various certificate and degree programs to provide training for church planters, as well as Biblical education for the wider Dallas community. We plan to produce a variety of materials in several mediums of communication to benefit church planters, pastors, and Christ's church at large. We have experience and are available for short-term Biblical and theological training sessions in any part of the world.

Your part in these plans: you can join us in our goal to raise up new local churches by praying for this to happen, by joining with us in a church planting project, by allowing us to mentor and equip you to be a church planter, and by contributing financial/material resources to our church planting projects.
